Is there a new Warzone map for Season 1?
Yes, Rebirth Island will become the second full Battle Royale map in Warzone. It’s much smaller than Verdansk, and it will include a lower total player count as a result. There will still be Trios and Quads on the close-quarters map.
Rebirth Island will have its own Gulag that’s different from the one seen in Verdansk.
How big is Rebirth Island?
Activision has not released all of the specifications for Rebirth Island before the launch of Season 1, but based on video of the map, it doesn’t appear much bigger than the more significant areas within the much-larger world of Verdansk (such as Boneyard, Downtown or Airport).
How do you play on Rebirth Island?
Rebirth Island is expected to have its own set of playlists that can be entered from the Warzone main menu following the Season 1 update.
Is Verdansk going away in Warzone?
Verdansk will continue to exist and receive updates in Season 1 of Warzone, offering a larger open world experience than Rebirth Island. It’s possible it will be either replaced by a new full-scale Warzone map in the spring, though no announcements have been made about that potential development.
Where is the new Warzone Gulag?
The new Warzone Gulag is set “in a Nuketown facsimile built by the Soviets who constructed Black Ops Cold War’s Amerika Town.” In other words, it’s a Soviet replica of the well-known Nuketown map.
Is Nuketown in Warzone?
The original Nuketown map is not in Warzone, but an indoor replica of it is included as a Gulag battleground. The backyard and houses will be blocked off, limiting the area players can go in the 1v1 fight for redemption.
